Ubisoft recently announced that a Kinect supported future Xbox Live Arcade title Babel Rising will be released on June 13th, 2012. While the title was known, what came as a surprise is that this game will also be coming to the Windows Phone under the name Babel Rising 3D. While no date for the Windows Phone version was stated, a joint-release would be expected.
The “3D” portion of the title seems to denote the way the players interact in the game rather than any actual 3D support. So those looking for 3D in their Windows Phones will have to wait.
Players act as the God of those building the fabled Babel Tower and as such, must choose how to punish the builders for their transgressions. Circling the building hundreds of times in order to punish these builders lends itself to the three-dimensional designation. This ability to move around the tower around and zoom in for various views is where we assume Ubisoft is getting the “3D” in Babel Rising 3D.
