Bubblebreak Review

This is the tile art for Bubblebreak!

Bubblebreak

Game: Bubblebreak

Developer: Sunbow Games

Publisher: Sunbow Games

Price: 1.29 EUR / $ 1.29 USD

Release Date: November 4th, 2011

Bubblebreak is developed by Sunbow Games, and will be released on Windows Phone 7 devices on November 4th, 2011 for 1.29 EUR / $ 1.79 USD. This game is an indie game available through the marketplace (here).

Bubblebreak is a new indie game that boasts stunning graphics, good music, leaderboards, in-game achievements, and an extensive tutorial to get you started. The basic premise is all about matching colored bubbles on a map in order to advance to the next level. To complete a level you are required to destroy the existing bubbles in the center with the bubbles you are given on the perimeter. You can destroy the bubbles by utilizing a moveable bar around the perimeter of the circle and shooting the bubbles into their matching colors in the middle. It isn’t as easy as it sounds though because you need chains of 3 bubbles to destroy them and the color wheel on the perimeter is constantly moving, creating a challenge. Once a chain has been broken, the bubbles release with what appears to be a “ghost” bubble and when rallied off of your bar, will take on the color of your bar and go in the direction you aim it. There is a magnet in the center of the map holding the bubbles in place and the easiest way to advance and destroy all bubbles is to hit the magnets with a bubble to break it and the bubbles attached to it. By utilizing the color wheel on the perimeter and collecting special powerups (by destroying bubble chains) you can advance through the different levels. Once you cease to break all the bubbles with the limited amount of bubbles you have, the game is over and you enter your name on the leaderboards.

Fusion: Sentient Announcement

This week, ex-Rare staff members who have formed a new studio called Starfire, have announced their first exclusive game for the Xbox360 LIVE Arcade. Now, what does this have to do with Windows Phone 7 one may ask? Along with the announcement of their game entitled Fusion: Genesis for the Xbox LIVE arcade, they threw a one liner in at the end of their announcement trailer about a companion game called Fusion: Sentient for the Windows Phone 7. The Xbox LIVE game is scheduled to release at the end of the year, and one can assume since Fusion: Sentient is being labeled a “companion” game that it will be released around the same time. We will keep you updated if we get any more news.

This week’s Xbox LIVE Game release is…

This week for Xbox LIVE game releases on Windows Phone 7 brings you Enigmo published by Microsoft Game Studios at the price of $2.99. The trial and game are available of download as of right now.

Enigmo is the most unique game that you’ll find for the Windows Phone 7. It is a 3D puzzle game where you manipulate slides, bumpers, and other pieces to control streams of flowing liquid. Water, oil, and lava droplets fall from “droppers” and will bounce around the walls of a puzzle. You move and rotate the various puzzle pieces in order to divert the flow of falling droplets so that they can reach their target. The faster you complete each level, the more bonus points you will receive!”

In other news, Assassin’s Creed has seen a permanent price reduction from $6.99 to $4.99, which is good news to anyone who wanted to pick up this game.

Happy gaming
