Microsoft allows for downgrade option from Windows 8

Those wary of the Windows 8 upgrade will be glad to know they have the option to downgrade the Operating system, if wanted.

Microsoft announced in its EULA that users will have the ability to downgrade the OS to either Windows 7 or Windows Vista, a feature seen in the Windows 7 Professional. The downgrade option is only available for those with the Windows 8 Pro and they have the option to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro and Vista Business.

Here is the actual wording:

Can I downgrade the software? Instead of using the Windows 8 Pro software, you may use one of the following earlier versions: Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business.

This only applies to the Windows PC, not any Windows Phones.

Additionally, if you purchase a Windows 7 PC (except Starter edition) between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, you are eligible to get a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade license for just $14.99.
