Nokia announces more Lumia phone apps

Nokia is bringing more great apps to its Lumia phone line, as well as games through its partnership with Zynga. The apps will be available on the Windows Phone marketplace starting this week in a phased approach. A list of some of the apps is listed below.

 

 

 

 

Camera Extras – available in US and China by June 22 and other countries in July

  • Enhances the smartphone’s camera
  • Capture group shots with just one attempt
  • Capture fast-moving action shots
  • Panorama control feature
  • Self-timer

Contact Share

A quick and easy way of sharing contacts via SMS or email

Counters – available in US and China by June 22 and other countries in July

Allows a way of monitoring your Lumia usage and setting up limits. This is useful for individuals with call and data allowances.

PlayTo – available globally by June 22

Allows the ability to share pictures, videos and music from your Lumia smartphone to other DLNA enabled devices on your network.

Zynga Games – available this autumn to Nokia phones, and other Windows phones later

DrawSomething and Words with Friends is finally coming to Windows Phone. Perhaps, the enormous fanfare led to the eventual release on the Windows platform.

The Lumia 800 and 710 are expected to receive software updates that will allow those phones to use the upcoming software releases. Expect the updates globally staring June 27.

Additionally, all Lumia smartphones will be receiving an update to give some of the features of the Windows Phone 8, including the new start screen.
