Searching through the Marketplace, trying to find apps that are worth your time, can sometimes be a chore. Luckily, James Booth of 7tutorials.com has compiled a nice list of the 7 highest rated apps on the Windows Phone Marketplace, with a little help from AppFlow App Discovery. All of the following apps are free, except Power Planner, which offers both paid and free versions.
As some readers might be aware, Nokia’s augmented reality application City Lens (see our earlier post here) has entered their beta labs. While this application has gained a good amount of hype, we’d like to point out this isn’t a new idea. Point in case: Wikitude for HTC and Samsung.
While City Lens has garnered a lot of attention Wikitude actually contains a more robust offering of features. One feature missing from competitors is its search features. Not only that, but the ability to link to other applications such as Yelp, Twitter, Flickr, Starbucks and more adds to usefulness for the socially inclined. For the devs out there, their system even offers APIs that allow integration into any home-made applications.
On the creepy side of things, seeing people tweeting around you can be on the stalker side of things, but it’s still pretty cool.
At the bargain price of free there’s no reason not to give Wikitude a try by going to their marketplace page here. Or use the QR code below:
