Windows Phone Fans clamor for DrawSomething

DrawSomething, the popular drawing game for phones, has garnered a substantial demand on the Windows Phone platform. A petition was started around the beginning of March and has already reached over 4,000 signings.

The game’s developer, OMGPOP, on the other hand appears to have other priorities at the moment.

“Windows and other platforms are something we are examining,” said Joseph Alminawi, a senior community manager for OMGPOP, in a forum response. “Right now we’re focusing on fine tuning the existing apps on iOS and Android.”

However, Alminawi did express DrawSomething’s potential arrival on the Window Phone’s format.

“The greater the demand and the larger the market, the higher the appeal for us to put our resources into making a game on a platform,” he said.

Since that posting the petition has gained an additional 2,000 signings, about half of its current signatures.

While his response was posted before the announced purchase of OMGPOP by Zynga, the sale is likely a contributing factor to the absence of the title on the Windows Phone.
